Lego Porsche 911 is their coolest build so far
There's an amazing new Porsche 911 Lego kit that's been announced today, and we want it bad.
Building Lego is one of our favorite activities now that we can't roam the streets during lockdown. And even when there's not a lockdown, we like to build Lego between drives. Especially when it's cool car related stuff. In the DrivePact.com headquarters you will find Porsches, a Caterham, a Ferrari, a Lancia Stratos and more. A Fiat 500 and a Volkswagen hippie bus, and another -bigger- Ferrari F40 are also lined up in the office. So yeah, we like building Lego cars.
And now the Danish geniuses have announced something we can't decline. A Porsche 911 set that is a 2-in-1 set. That sucks in a way, because we'll probably have to buy the set twice. But the thing is: the Targa is almost identical to the first Porsche 911 Targa my father owned. So I have to have it, that's clear.
The set has two building routes. One has the Porsche 911 Turbo (930) as a a final result, while the other route ends up as the seventies Targa. If only the Targa bar was gray / aluminium and the interior would have been black instead of tan. In that case, it would have been a copy of the actual Porsche 911 Targa my father used to own. But hey, nothing a little Lego MOC can't fix, right Jon Eliott?
Lego gives us the following details on the model:
- Model measures:
- Height: 10.8 cm
- Width: 16 cm
- Depth: 35.5 cm
- 1,458 pieces
- Features two distinct building options: build the LEGO Porsche 911 Turbo or the Porsche 911 Targa at any one time; rebuild to create the other (both versions cannot be built simultaneously from the single set)
- 2+2 interior with sculpted front sports seats, finished in striking dark orange and nougat, based on contemporary Porsche colour schemes
- Faithfully recreated interior with tilting front seats, gearstick, handbrake and functional steering
- Price: €129.99 / $149.99
So yeah, Lego, we want one! Do we really have to wait until march 1st?
